In my first cookbook, I have a recipe for making skinny pizza dough sopes. While these chicken chorizo sopes are not traditional, it is very tasty! The secret is to mix in a bit of masa flour into the pizza dough.
If you don’t have the recipe for my skinny pizza dough, you can click here. The dough is good in your refrigerator for up to 7 days. I typically make a double batch just for myself because there are so many things you can do with the dough other than pizza. You can click here for my cookbook on Amazon.
The idea for this recipe came from my friend Freddsters. You can check out his Instagram here. He mentioned this chicken chorizo a couple months ago, but I had a hard time finding it. I finally found it at Jewel. I used 47 grams in this recipe for 2 WW points. It is so flavorful, you really don’t need to use more than that.
Ingredients needed for skinny sopes
- skinny pizza dough
- masa flour
- toppings of choice:Â I used chicken chorizo, canned potatoes, tomatoes, radishes, green chiles, lettuce salsa and cilantro
Â

- 3 tablespoons masa flour
- 3 tablespooons water
- Optional Toppings:
- 46 grams chicken chorizo
- 1/4 cup diced canned potatoes
- 1/4 cup fat free refried beans
- 2 tablespoons diced tomato
- 1 tablespoon green chiles
- 1 small radish, sliced
- shredded lettuce
- salsa
- cilantro
Instructions
- In a bowl mix the masa flour and the water until it comes together.
- Add the pizza dough and mix until combined.
- Put dough on counter and press out into a 4 inch circle, then using your fingers, make an edge all the way around the sope. Spray with avocado oil spray.
- Heat air fryer at 360 degrees for five minutes. Place the sope in the air fryer and cook for 8 minutes. Bring the temperature up to 400 degrees and cook an additional 7 minutes.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the chorizo and cook for 3 minutes. Add potatoes and cook 4 more minutes.
- Build your sope: refried beans, chorizo potato mixture, tomatoes, radish, diced chiles, lettuce, salsa and cilantro
Notes
As of the date of this publication, each sope is 4 WW points. As the recipe is written with the above toppings, this is 8 WW points. CLICK HERE FOR SKINNY PIZZA DOUGH RECIPE. This dough can be made ahead of time because it is good in your refrigerator for up to 7 days.
