As we enter the final 100 days of 2024, I’m setting some personal goals, and I wanted to share my “why” with you. For me, it’s about finding a new hobby outside of cooking. Cooking used to be my creative outlet, but now that it’s a big part of my job, it feels like every time I cook, it needs to be filmed or turned into content for social media. I love sharing recipes, but I miss having something that’s just for me.
Lately, I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of TikTok furniture flips, and I’m completely obsessed. The process of taking something old and giving it new life seems so interesting, and I think I’m going to give it a shot! When I get back from my mom’s, one of my goals is to clear out my basement and create a space for my new furniture flipping studio. I’m excited to have a project that’s purely for fun, no cameras or social media pressure—just something to get lost in.
Understanding Your “Why” Fuels Your Motivation
When you’re working toward any goal, knowing your “why” is the key to staying motivated, especially when things get tough. Your “why” is your personal reason for pursuing that goal—it’s the deeper purpose that keeps you going when the initial excitement fades. Without a clear reason behind your actions, it’s easy to lose focus or give up when progress stalls. Whether you’re trying to lose weight, start a new hobby, or tackle a big project, having a strong “why” gives you direction and helps you push through challenges. It’s what fuels your persistence and keeps you on track, even when the results seem slow or the obstacles feel overwhelming.
Your “Why” Creates Meaningful Progress
Reaching a goal isn’t just about the destination—it’s about the journey. When you understand your “why,” every step you take becomes more meaningful. Instead of going through the motions, you’ll see each choice as part of a bigger picture. For example, if your goal is to get healthier, knowing that your “why” is to feel stronger and more energized for your family will make it easier to stick to those habits, even on days when motivation wanes. Your “why” gives purpose to the process, turning small wins into long-term progress and keeping you aligned with your ultimate vision. Without it, goals can feel like chores—but with it, they become empowering and achievable.
So that’s my “why” for the rest of this year—finding joy in something new, just for me. What’s your why? Whether it’s health, creativity, or simply setting aside time for yourself, let me know your goals in the comments! Let’s finish 2024 strong together! 💪💙
