Buffalo Shrimp was my late husband’s favorite dish at Hooter’s.  Which was weird because he didn’t particularly like spicy food!  My version tastes just as delicious, but only 4 WW points per serving.  Winning!

Ingredients Needed to Make Buffalo Shrimp

  • frozen shrimp – unless you live in an area that you can get fresh shrimp, it’s always more economical to buy frozen shrimp and defrost it.  I simply pull out my 4 ounces of shrimp, place in a water bath and they usually defrost in about 20 minutes
  • flour – I used all purpose flour, but I think that gluten free flour would work well too – note:  I’ve not tried it though!
  • egg – you could also use egg whites if you prefer
  • buffalo sauce – I use Frank’s but any brand works
  • seasonings of choice – I seasoned my flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper

Can you bake this if you don’t have an air fryer?

The quick answer is yes.  I would cook at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.  Be sure to spray with avocado spray! Note: I have not tried this in a conventional oven.  I also suggest that you can also pan fry these in avocado oil spray.
